Overview: Three penniless students live in the basement of one of the buildings owned by a young heiress who lives under the guardianship of her uncle, who covets her wealth and wants to marry her to his failed student son. The heiress falls in love with one of the three students and the heiress on the one hand, and her guardian uncle and his son on the other.
