Overview: Once, Maria's husband went to the city to work and did not return. She stayed with two children. For some time she was waiting and hoping for his return. Hope helped to transfer a heavy collective farm life. Twenty years passed and Ivan appeared in the village. But neither the wife nor the children who grew up without him recognized him as a native person.
