Overview: During World War II, it was an unwritten order in the US military to avoid recommending African-American soldiers for the highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor, no matter how worthy they were of it. Decades later, the Clinton administration ordered this old injustice systematically assessed and corrected. This film profiles the stories of African-Americans who displayed extraordinary valor above and beyond the call of duty who were finally given their proper due.
