Overview: The culinary contest returns to test the skills of 12 passionate home bakers as they battle it out to be crowned Best Amateur Baker by judges Paul Kelly and Biddy White Lennon. In the first edition, the hopefuls must make a cake that displays their personality to the judges, before they face a dreaded technical challenge. Presented by Anna Nolan

Overview: It is getting hot in the tent this week for the bakers – this week it is all about Pastry. Pastry is a favourite of both the judges Biddy While Lennon and Paul Kelly. There are 11 bakers remaining – they are dreading the Technical challenge – which is set by Biddy this week – they have to show their skills with hot water crust pastry and Biddy’s wild ingredients. Will Dave be able to keep his cool this week and prove to the judges he is more than capable? Will Treasa’s time keeping improve?

Overview: The remaining nine bakers are challenged to produce a retro savoury and sweet biscuit to impress the judges, Paul Kelly and Biddy White Lennon.

Overview: The remaining eight bakers face a continental-style challenge involving choux pastry.

Bread

Episode number: 5

Overview: It is time for the dreaded bread test as the seven remaining bakers are challenged to produce a savoury loaf and a sweet loaf.

Classic Baking

Overview: Things are hotting up for the remaining bakers whose technical challenge on this occasion is to produce a pear tarte tatin.

Desserts (Semi Final)

Episode number: 7

Overview: Five bakers remain and judge Paul Kelly sets them a very difficult technical challenge. The bakers must also focus on creating summer desserts.
